Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
On Friday night at the India-Nepal border in the Motipur area of Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) detained a young man on suspicion. The individual was found roaming near the border, and his speech was noticeably different from that of the local population, which prompted the SSB personnel to stop and question him.
During interrogation, the suspect mentioned Pakistan. Due to his unusual language and behavior, the SSB handed him over to the Sujoli police for further investigation. The police admitted the man to a medical college hospital for medical evaluation. Authorities suspect that he may have been attempting illegal entry into India through the Nepal border.
Security concerns at the India-Nepal border have recently increased due to reported infiltration attempts by foreign nationals, including Bangladeshi and Pakistani individuals. In response, the government has deployed 1500 additional SSB personnel and 200 police officers in the Bahraich border area.
These forces are conducting regular patrols and surveillance to maintain border security. The SSB and local police continue their investigations into the incident. Security forces remain vigilant to prevent unauthorized crossings and safeguard the international boundary.
